At least 160 people have died and 234 others are missing on the Central Mediterranean route since the beginning of the year, as of May 17.
This was reported by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Libya in its latest update published on X.
In the same period, the UN agency specifies, migrants intercepted at sea and brought back to Libya were 8,665, of whom 7,369 were men, 895 women, 296 minors and 105 whose gender data is unknown. (A2 Televizion)
