Former British diplomat Lord Ricketts has joined Sophy Ridge to discuss the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
According to foreign media, he describes it as a "precious moment of opportunity" but warns that the agreement remains "fragile and very, very difficult" - with the Israeli cabinet yet to sign it ahead of its planned implementation on Sunday.
And he says that even if it comes into effect on time, unresolved issues remain that mean long-term peace remains unattainable.
There is no guarantee that Israeli forces will withdraw from all of Gaza, and there is no answer as to who will "maintain law and order."
"And then there's this massive issue of reconstruction," he adds, writes A2 CNN.
"Hundreds of billions of dollars need to be found. I think it needs to come from the rich Arab Gulf countries."
He also thinks Britain will have a role to play in the humanitarian process once the war ends, if that happens.
But he warns: "All these big, difficult issues that have been there for decades have not been eased at all by this war." (A2 Televizion)
