A former Israeli prime minister has called Benjamin Netanyahu's attack on British Prime Minister Keir Starmer "scandalous".
According to foreign media, Ehud Olmert said it was "complete absurdity" to confuse criticism of the Israeli government's approach to Gaza with anti-Semitism.
"It is an insult to reasonable people to even suggest that when someone disagrees with Netanyahu and his terrible policies... then he is anti-Semitic," he said, writes A2 CNN.
"Most Israelis criticize the Israeli government in the same way and with the same language," he continued.
"Therefore, please tell your prime minister that he is in good company - with people who care about human values and who are against the policies of Netanyahu and the group of thugs who are part of his cabinet," the former prime minister continued.
Continuing the war "is not justified" and "the majority of Israelis at this point are against continuing the war."
"There are many voices like mine in Israel who oppose the expansion of this war, precisely because we don't want to kill uninvolved people among the Palestinians," he said.
The Israeli government "is not making enough efforts" to provide assistance, he added, writes A2 CNN.
"It is the duty of the Israeli government and the Israeli army to secure it," the former prime minister concluded. (A2 Televizion)
