The White House announced that Israel has agreed to apply short-term ceasefires in Gaza lasting up to 4 hours for humanitarian purposes.
The news was given by the spokesman John Kirby who stated that he has been notified by the Israeli authorities about the implementation of these pauses in fighting that will start from today.
"The Israeli authorities assured us that during these hours, there will be no military operations," said Kirby, among others.
Earlier, the Israeli military stated that local pauses for humanitarian purposes have been applied from time to time in Gaza, but a full ceasefire is still impossible as long as more than 200 civilians continue to be held hostage by Hamas militants. (A2 Televizion)
