China has reportedly pledged to increase its support for Russia after US President Donald Trump threatened to impose "heavy" tariffs if Moscow does not end the war in Ukraine within 50 days.
According to foreign media, President Xi Jinping said that Beijing and Moscow should "strengthen mutual support in multilateral forums," after holding a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the Chinese capital, according to China's state news agency Xinhua.
Earlier, security and defense analyst Michael Clarke spoke about how Trump's threat of tariffs could affect countries that buy Russian fuel, such as China and India.
He said this could add another level of pressure on Moscow to agree to peace, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
