Macron promises $2 billion in military aid to Ukraine: Russia distorts

French President Emmanuel Macron has made strong accusations against Russia during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in Paris.

It is learned that Macron accused Russia of distorting the agreements resulting from the ceasefire negotiations in Ukraine.

According to foreign media, Macron said: "I noticed today that Russia is constantly tempted to reinterpret what we discuss and agree on."

Despite Moscow's declarations of peaceful intentions, Macron complained that Russian forces continue to hit Ukrainian territory, including political targets. "We condemn these attacks," he stressed.

The French president announced that his country will provide an additional $2 billion in military aid to Ukraine in order to strengthen Kiev's defenses against Russian invasion, writes A2 CNN.

He highlighted that some of the new equipment to be sent include anti-tank missiles, surface-to-air missiles and drones, stressing: "This is about Ukraine."

Macron also stressed that Moscow cannot be the one to dictate the terms of a lasting peace.

As he said, the conditions for ending the war cannot be determined by the aggressor, but must emerge through a fair and sustainable dialogue. (A2 Televizion)
