Mexican authorities have announced that human remains found last week in an abandoned house in the state of Guanajuato, known as Mexico's most violent, belong to 32 people. The news was confirmed by the Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The dismembered bodies were placed in plastic bags and were discovered during a search of a home in the city of Irapuato, as part of a missing persons investigation.
According to the official statement, 15 of the victims have been fully identified, while the identification process for the others is ongoing. The prosecution stressed that the bodies were found in "fragmented and complex conditions", which makes the work of investigators more difficult.
This shocking discovery comes at a time when violence in Guanajuato, caused mainly by clashes between criminal groups, continues to cause serious consequences for the local population. (A2 Televizion)
