North Korea has deployed additional troops to support Russia's war against Ukraine, Seoul's National Intelligence Service (NIS) said, adding that "the relative numerical consistency is still being assessed."
However, the most reasonable scenario is that more than 1,000 new troops will be sent between January and February, Yonhap reported, citing military sources, CNN's A2 reports.
The news came after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called in an interview on Fox News for European countries to get involved in containing Russia in Ukraine.
"What Ukraine really needs is deterrence. They need to make it difficult for anyone to attack them again in the future. This can be discussed and it shouldn't just be about America, but the Europeans can get involved. NATO is not in danger, but the allies need to spend more on defense," Rubio said, writes A2 CNN.
