US President Donald Trump has answered a question about what it's like to negotiate with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
"He's a very smart guy, he's a very cunning person," Trump told reporters, foreign media wrote.
But he adds that Putin had no intention of starting the war in Ukraine, but according to him, it was the created situations that forced him.
"I've dealt with some really bad people, but I'll tell you in terms of this, he had no intention, in my opinion, of resolving this war," Trump said, writes A2 CNN.
"I think he loved all of Ukraine when I was elected President, we talked and I think we will have an agreement," he continued, writes A2 CNN.
Trump goes on to say that if he had not been elected President "I believe he [Putin] would have continued to go through Ukraine."
He adds: "Over a period of time, many people would have been killed."
Turning to NATO, Trump says: "You can forget about it. That's probably why it all started." (A2 Televizion)
