Achieving a million signatures to tax the super-rich is the goal of the AG Steuergerechtigkeit movement, better known as Tax Me Now, a rather surprising initiative backed by a multimillionaire like Marlene Engelhorn.

Engelhorn has addressed the EU institutions with a video demanding that she and the super-rich like herself be taxed more.

" Hello, I'm a multimillionaire and I want you to tax me more now ," she said in the video.

The new heiress of the chemical giant BASF has promoted her action on social media as well, starting the collection of firms to turn the initiative into a real proposal for the EU institutions.

Collecting one million signatures together with Oxfam is its main objective, in order to ask Europe to, through taxes earned from large assets, finance essential interventions in various sectors such as health care, education and the fight against climate change .

Marlene Engelhorn is a member of the international association "Millionaires for Humanity" and founded, together with 49 other heirs of large fortunes, the "Tax me now" movement.

So, at the beginning of the year she surprisingly decided to give up an inheritance of 4 billion dollars, spending that money to finance social initiatives, while she began to engage in initiatives for a more equitable distribution of wealth. (A2 Televizion)
