Mexico began deploying 10,000 military troops to the border with the United States on Monday, as promised yesterday in exchange for suspending Washington's threat to impose 25% tariffs on Mexican goods.
"We have already started sending soldiers," Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said during the press conference.
She explained that the soldiers were deployed within states that "don't have as many security problems . "
"This is a development that does not leave the rest of the country without security," Sheinbaum underlined.
The Mexican press has been reporting since this morning about the deployment of soldiers and National Guard members in various cities on the border with the United States, such as Tijuana and Matamoros.
