Trade tariff war, how Albania is affected by Trump's decisions

The tariff war has begun. After China, Mexico and Canada, US President Donald Trump has also warned the European Union.

He has announced that he will impose heavy tariffs on the 27-member bloc, continuing his trade war. The countries expected to be penalized by the tariff hike are Albania's main trading partners.

Last year, we conducted 57.4% of total trade with the European Union.

Exchanges were more sensitive towards exports, making these countries important markets for the "Made in Albania" product.

But who are the main countries with which we trade, specifically, to understand how much they will be affected by the trade war that has already begun?

The main trading partner, both in terms of exports and imports, is Italy, a member state of the European Union. The second partner is China, against which President Trump has also decided to increase tariffs by 10%. It is followed by Turkey and Greece. The latter is also a member state of the European bloc.

But how do Albania's trade exchanges with the United States of America look like?

Data shows that last year, exports to the US declined, while imports increased. In other words, we bought more goods and products from this country than we sold. (A2 Televizion)
