"The protocol with Albania does not pretend to be a medicine, but an additional tool to manage the mass arrivals of immigrants". This is what the Italian Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, said in his communication to the House of Representatives on the Italy-Albania agreement for immigrants.
"The agreement signed on November 6 is an important component of an overall strategy. And a possible model, not only for Italy, for future collaborations with friendly countries", said Tajani.
"The debate on this issue and the vote that will end it show, if there was a need, that our government has never shied away from dialogue and consideration by Parliament, especially on issues of such importance. Let's examine, therefore, the voting of the resolution is only a first step, but significant, in this direction and a valuable indicator", explains the Italian Deputy Prime Minister.
According to him, the draft law contains the rules and divisions necessary for the implementation of the protocol.
"The Government intends to quickly submit to the Chambers a ratification bill, which also contains the rules and divisions necessary for the implementation of the Protocol. The discussion in the Assembly on it will provide the opportunity for an in-depth and reasoned discussion. We hope that the approval will be done in time compatible with the urgency of addressing, even with innovative means, the management of increasing migratory flows". (A2 Televizion)
