Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76. The news was announced by his family, international media reports.
"It is with more sadness than words can express, we must announce that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask that everyone respect our family's privacy at this time," the family statement said.
"The Prince of Darkness," Ozzy Osbourne shocked and amazed with his heavy metal band, Black Sabbath. For many years, fans thought Osbourne must be invincible. The "Godfather of Metal" had survived decades of hard life, including drug and alcohol abuse.
Osbourne was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019.
Just two weeks ago, he played at Black Sabbath's farewell concert in his hometown of Birmingham.
Osbourne received a number of accolades during his storied career, including a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 1994. In 2006, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with his bandmates Black Sabbath. (A2 Televizion)
