The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, arrived in court on Wednesday, where he will testify in the ongoing trial against him, on charges of corruption.

Accompanied by his lawyer Amit Hadad, Netanyahu obeyed the court's order to testify three times a week at the trial, writes A2 CNN. He is accused of having received gifts from his millionaire friends on three occasions and of seeking to pass laws favoring media moguls in exchange for positive news about him. Netanyahu has denied all charges and pleaded not guilty.

The 75-year-old politician is the first sitting prime minister to be charged with a criminal offense in Israel. His appearance in court comes at a time when Israel is involved in a bloody war in Gaza, a conflict that risks spreading even further, due to its involvement in Lebanon and Syria. (A2 Televizion)
