Turkey has shown its firm commitment to its survival and security, the country's president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said on Monday while referring to the situation in Syria.
After the cabinet meeting in Ankara, Erdogan declared that " if necessary we will come suddenly at night ", openly threatening the factors aimed at destabilization in the region.
" With the epic revolution in our neighboring Syria, a new era has begun both in this country and in our region. We see that the new Syrian administration is determined to build a Syria based on the territorial integrity and unity of the country ," the Turkish president explained.
He further said that " our sincere desire, expectation and policy is in this direction ".
" We will not accept the disintegration of Syria and the disruption of its unified structure under any pretext. If we see that there is a risk in this regard, we will immediately take the necessary measures. Those who had different dreams of turning the conflict in Syria and the threat of it into an opportunity, faced the age-old realities of our region after the recent developments. This reality is that there is no place for terrorism in the future of the region. The only fate that awaits those who prefer terrorism and violence is to be buried in the ground with their weapons. I tell you frankly, no power can prevent this. Turkey has shown many times that it has an uncompromising will to protect its survival and security. If we get to that point, we can come to you suddenly one night ," Erdogan declared.
At another point of the press conference, the Turkish President said that investments in the defense industry " are not for preparing for war, but for preserving and protecting peace, independence and the future" .
" Turkey is a source of trust and security for its friends, but it also has the power to suppress the dirty hands that reach out to our homeland, no matter who they are ," he said. (A2 Televizion)
