Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says killing Iran's leader would end the conflict, writes A2 CNN.
According to foreign media, when asked by ABC News about reports that President Donald Trump rejected an Israeli plan to assassinate Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei because it would escalate hostilities, Netanyahu said: "This will not escalate the conflict, it will end the conflict."
He went on to say that "'eternal war' is what Iran wants and they are bringing us to the brink of nuclear war. In fact, what Israel is doing is preventing this, ending this aggression, and we can only do this by confronting the forces of evil."
Asked if Israel would indeed target the supreme leader, Netanyahu said Israel was "doing what it had to do." (A2 Televizion)
