"We will preserve Iran's uranium," Russia expresses readiness

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his willingness to store Iran's enriched uranium on Russian territory, as an effort to reduce tensions over Tehran's nuclear program and prevent an escalation of the conflict with Israel.

The proposal, made earlier this year, continues to remain "on the table," according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, although recent developments have significantly complicated the situation.

The statement comes at a sensitive time, as Iran has warned of a possible withdrawal from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, raising fresh international concerns about its nuclear ambitions. At the same time, Israeli air strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, including the Natanz facility, have deepened the crisis.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei denied that Tehran seeks to build a nuclear weapon, but acknowledged that the Iranian parliament is considering a bill to withdraw from the NPT in response to Israeli aggression.

Iran also called on Britain, Germany and France to condemn the Israeli actions and put pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stop the attacks. (A2 Televizion)
