The US Postal Service says it has stopped accepting packages from China and Hong Kong until further notice.
The papers will not be affected by the suspension, according to a statement on the company's website.
The USPS did not offer a reason for the decision, but it comes after US President Donald Trump imposed an additional 10% tariff on all goods imported into the US from China.
The so-called tax loophole faced increased scrutiny in recent years after Chinese e-commerce giants like Shein and Temu used it to reach millions of American customers.
In response, China said it would implement tariffs on some imports from the US.
From February 10, coal and liquefied natural gas (LNG) products will face a 15% tariff. Crude oil, agricultural machinery and large-engine cars will be subject to a 10% tariff. (A2 Televizion)
