Putin-Kim Jong Un pact, Russia offers military aid to North Korea if needed

The Kremlin has stated that Russia will provide military assistance to North Korea if necessary.

According to foreign media, the comments come after Pyongyang confirmed that it had sent troops to fight for Russia.

The state news agency RIA quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying that North Korea's role in Russia's Kursk region demonstrated the effectiveness of a treaty signed by Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un last year.

He said the pact included that Russia could help North Korea in return if necessary, writes A2 CNN.

Recall that earlier Moscow announced that the Kursk region has been completely 'cleared' of Ukrainian troops.

President Trump has escalated his rhetoric toward Russia in recent days, following a meeting he held with Volodymyr Zelensky at the Vatican during the funeral of Pope Francis. (A2 Televizion)
