"Palestinians would be moved to nice houses" - Trump mocks political

President Donald Trump has continued to unveil his plan for the US to take control of Gaza, in a social media post that mocked a political rival.

"The Gaza Strip would be handed over to the United States by Israel at the end of the fighting," he posted on his social media page, Truth Social.

"Palestinians, people like Chuck Schumer, would have already been settled in much safer and more beautiful communities, with new and modern homes, in the region," Trump wrote, writes A2 CNN.

The president has mocked Schumer since he nodded instead of shaking Benjamin Netanyahu's hand when the Israeli prime minister addressed Congress last year.

At the time, Trump told supporters at a rally: "Chuck Schumer has become a Palestinian. Can you believe it? He has become a proud member of Hamas."

Senate Minority Leader Schumer, who is Jewish, called the remark "independent."

Trump continued on Social Truth: "They (the Palestinians) would actually have a chance to be happy, safe and free."

"It would not take American soldiers to take the territory," he claimed, writes A2 CNN.

"The United States, working with large development teams from around the world, would slowly and carefully begin construction of what would become one of the largest and most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth," Trump wrote.

"No US troops would be needed! Stability for the region would reign!!!", Trump concluded.

His comments come after White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt attempted to contradict some of his comments yesterday.

She told reporters that Gaza residents would be "relocated temporarily" rather than permanently, while the territory would be rebuilt. (A2 Televizion)
