Moments of panic have been experienced by passengers of flight DL446 of the American company "Delta Air Lines", who were forced to make an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport, immediately after takeoff, because a fire engulfed the plane's left engine.
The plane, a Boeing 767-400 with registration number N836MH, was headed to Atlanta, but a few minutes after takeoff, the crew reported serious anomalies in the left engine, which showed signs of a possible fire.
The dramatic footage, broadcast live on the aviation specialist YouTube channel LA Flights, shows flames and sparks coming from the left engine while the plane was still in the air.
In an immediate reaction, the pilot decided to return to the runway, where a safe emergency landing was made. Airport firefighters were activated immediately after landing, extinguishing the flames and securing the area.
Fortunately, no passengers or crew members were injured in the incident.
According to specialized sources such as Aviation A2Z, the aircraft was equipped with two GE CF6 engines, and had more than 24 years of active service in the Delta Air Lines fleet.
Authorities are investigating the exact causes of the incident, while the aircraft has been grounded for technical inspection. (A2 Televizion)
