NATO's secret plan to create a pipeline to supply fighter jets

To prepare for a possible war against Russia, NATO is planning to build a pipeline system from Germany to Poland and the Czech Republic, Der Spiegel reports. The plan aims to ensure a rapid supply of kerosene for fighter jets.

The existing NATO pipeline system from the Cold War ends in Bramsche, Lower Saxony, and in the Ingolstadt area in Bavaria. "There are significant problems in the sustainable fuel supply of forces that would have to be relocated to the eastern border if necessary," says an internal Bundeswehr memo, Der Spiegel reports.

According to a document submitted to senior management at the Ministry of Defense, internal allied talks have shown that pipeline systems are " the backbone of NATO's fuel supply ."

The total cost of the project is expected to be 21 billion euros. Germany will contribute more than 3.5 billion euros to the megaproject, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) told Spiegel. "For our soldiers, a reliable fuel supply is one of the essential prerequisites for their operational readiness," the minister said.

The total construction time is estimated at 20 to 25 years, and the pipeline itself is expected to be largely completed by 2035. The route passes under several rivers and through water and nature reserves, the documents say. In addition, land issues need to be clarified. "If the owners do not agree, they may be expropriated," the documents note.  (A2 Televizion)
