Police in Madrid have been faced with an unusual situation, as they accidentally discovered a car full of cash. Police stopped a vehicle that was speeding in the Spanish capital and during the search they discovered the large amount of money, writes A2 CNN.
The driver of the vehicle, when questioned by the officers, showed clear signs of nervousness. He said that he and his companions lived in Barcelona and had arrived in the capital by train during the morning of that day. He added that the car would return to Barcelona. However, his behavior did not fully convince the officers, so they decided to search the vehicle in detail.
This led them to a big surprise: 151,750 euros in the luggage. When they opened the luggage, they found three suitcases and in one of them, belonging to a 30-year-old Venezuelan woman, they discovered two packages wrapped in black tape. The question was obvious. Where did this money come from? The woman assured that this amount, between 60,000 and 65,000 euros for each package, was the result of her savings over the last two years.
But there was more. In another bag, this time in the woman's seat, another bundle of money was found. The woman could not give her origin for this money. Therefore, after a short time, a specialized unit for the detection of substances arrived at the scene, but they found nothing after inspecting the vehicle.
After counting the seized money, the amount came to 151,750 euros. The woman was informed that the money found would remain blocked. (A2 Televizion)
