Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister has said that Moscow sees a "small window of opportunity" to forge agreements with the new Trump administration.
According to foreign media, Sergei Ryabkov also attacked former US President Joe Biden in quotes reported by Russian state media Interfax.
"We cannot say anything today about the degree of the next administration's capacity to negotiate, but nevertheless, compared to the hopelessness in every aspect of the previous White House chief, there is a window of opportunity today, albeit a small one," Ryabkov said, writes A2 CNN.
"Therefore, it is important to understand what and who we will be dealing with, how to better build relations with Washington, how to maximize opportunities and minimize risks," he added.
Recall that Trump has said that his administration "will be talking to President Putin very soon" about the prospect of peace in Ukraine.
He also warned that the US could impose further sanctions on Russia if Moscow refuses to negotiate to end the war in Ukraine. (A2 Televizion)
