The salary of the US President has remained unchanged for more than 20 years, being set at $400,000 per year, according to US law.
This means that Donald Trump, as president of the US, will receive the same salary as his predecessors.
But it doesn't end there, the new head of the White House will also receive $50,000 for expenses, $100,000 for travel and $19,000 for entertainment.
The president's salary has only increased once between 1969 and 2001, when it doubled from $200,000 to $400,000.
On the other hand, former US presidents continue to receive pensions even after their term ends, with an annual payment currently reaching over $200,000. They can also benefit through public engagements, media contracts and other lucrative activities.
