Putin wants elections in Ukraine, powerful explosion near Kremlin, Russian

A powerful explosion has rocked a skyscraper in the heart of Russia. The leader of a pro-Russian paramilitary group in eastern Ukraine has died in hospital after being seriously injured in the incident in Moscow on Monday morning.

Russian media reports that it is Armen Sargsyan, the leader of the "Arbat" battalion, while the explosion occurred only 12 kilometers from the Kremlin.

Tass writes that another person died with him and several others were injured. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian army has taken responsibility for a drone attack on an oil refinery in Volgograd and a gas plant in Astrakhan. This is reported by the media in Kiev, which emphasize that the two companies supplied the Russian army.

However, American experts confirm a major Ukrainian loss: in January alone, Putin's army advanced 430 kilometers into Ukraine towards Pokrovsk.

Despite the United States' desire for peace, it is nowhere in sight. The Kremlin is demanding elections in Ukraine, claiming that President Volodymyr Zelensky has no right to participate in peace negotiations. (A2 Televizion)
