"They simply forced us to do what we are doing and are trying to make us look guilty ." This is what Russian President Vladimir Putin said about the military intervention in Ukraine and the ongoing conflict.
Speaking at a business forum, Putin, quoted by the Ria Novosti agency, returned to describing the ouster of President Viktor Yanukovych in 2014 after the Euromaidan demonstrations as "a coup" and to denounce violence against the population of Donbas by the new authorities in Kiev.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said Vladimir Putin was "completely crazy" by launching the largest airstrike of the war on Ukraine and said he was considering new sanctions on Moscow, although he also rebuked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
Trump posted the comment on Truth Social as Ukrainians woke up from a third consecutive night of massive Russian airstrikes, listening for hours to drones buzzing near their homes and bursts of Ukrainian anti-aircraft fire.
The Ukrainian air force said Russia had launched 355 drones and nine cruise missiles against Ukraine overnight, a massive barrage that makes it Russia's largest drone attack of the war to date. (A2 Televizion)
