Snowfall has covered almost the entire southeast of the country and the north, bringing truly wintery temperatures that have reached -7 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas.
In all cities in the southeast, there was snowfall during the night, while at altitudes above 1,000 meters, the thickness of the snow reached up to 10 cm.
At the moment, there are no reported problems with road traffic, while electricity transmission groups are on standby, as there have been power supply interruptions in several deep mountain villages in the southeast in Mokër and Moglice.
There has also been significant snowfall in the north of the country. In Theth and Bogë, the rainfall during the night was intense, but emergency headquarters do not report any blocked roads.
Low temperatures have created layers of ice on rural roads, and for this reason, drivers are urged to be careful and should be equipped with winter tires and chains.
Even in the north, there have been problems with the supply of electricity in some remote mountain villages. (A2 Televizion)
