The Kremlin said today that the significance of the phone conversation between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump is that now Russia and the United States will talk about peace, not war.
"It is a strong message that we will now try to resolve the problems through dialogue," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Pavel Zarubin, a state television journalist.
"Now we will talk about peace, not war," he underlined.
Peskov also said that the first meeting between Putin and Trump is of particular importance given the current circumstances.
He further stated that Western sanctions will not hinder Russia-US talks as they can be "removed as quickly as they were imposed" . (A2 Televizion)
