Russia has bombed the city of Kiev this Saturday, with airstrikes returning to the capital of Ukraine after more than 52 days.
"After a long pause of 52 days, the enemy has resumed attacks on Kiev. The missile failed to reach Kiev as air defense systems shot it down," Serhiy Popko, head of the city's military administration, wrote on social media.
The remains of the rocket fell on a residential area and caused some material damage to some houses, but there were no injuries.
Overnight, Ukrainian air defense systems also shot down 19 Iranian-made 'Shahed' drones out of 31 launched by Russian forces.
Russia has intensified its bombing of Ukrainian ports, including Odesa. The grain storage infrastructure has also been hit since July when Moscow withdrew from the agreement to export grains through the Black Sea. (A2 Televizion)
