Russian President Vladimir Putin refused to comment on speculation that Israel or the United States might try to assassinate Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and called for a political solution to the conflict.

"With your permission, I hope this is the most correct answer to the question you asked me. I don't even want to discuss such a possibility. As you know, Russia and I are personally in contact with the Prime Minister of Israel, as well as with President Trump. You always have to see if the goal can be achieved when you start something.
