IAEA chief Rafael Grossi is in Moscow today to hold talks with Alexei Likhachev, head of the Russian nuclear corporation Rosatom.
According to foreign media, the main topic of discussion is the current situation at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which Russian forces took control of immediately after the start of the war with Ukraine in 2022.
Speaking after talks in Moscow, Grossi said the facility - the largest nuclear power plant in Europe - had faced an increasing number of attacks.
"The number of attacks on the Zaporizhzhya power plant is increasing," he said, writes A2 CNN.
"We talk about this in every report. We don't specify the exact figure, it's increasing," he added.
Russian state news agency TASS quoted Gross as saying it was not possible to determine which side was carrying out the attacks.
"The small fragments of plastic or wood left by the alleged UAVs and drones do not allow us to talk about the origin of these fragments and these devices," he said, writes A2 CNN.
"However, I want to assure you that I raise the issues of this order at the highest level during international discussions," Gross concluded. (A2 Televizion)
