Explosions between Israel and Iran overnight, the number of casualties

A fire broke out at an oil refinery near Iran's capital, Tehran, on Sunday after an Israeli strike.

According to foreign media, a large cloud of smoke rose into the sky from a powerful fire at dawn, according to footage from the Iranian news agency WANA.

Meanwhile, the semi-official Tasnim Agency said the Israeli strikes also targeted Iran's Defense Ministry building, causing minor damage.

Israel and Iran launched fresh attacks on each other overnight, fueling fears of a wider conflict after Israel expanded its surprise campaign against its arch-rival with an attack on the world's largest gas field.

President Donald Trump said that if Iran attacks the United States in any way, it will face the power of the US military "at levels never seen before."

"The US had nothing to do with the attack on Iran and that 'we could easily reach a deal between Iran and Israel and end this bloody conflict!!!'" Trump said on his Truth Social platform.

Tehran has also canceled nuclear talks that Washington had said were the only way to stop Israel's bombings, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the attacks were nothing compared to what Iran would see in the coming days, writes A2 CNN.

Israeli rescue teams continued their search and rescue mission in the coastal city of Bat Yam, where an overnight Iranian missile attack resulted in "dozens" of casualties, according to Israeli rescue personnel.

The mayor told Reuters that several people were killed in the attack on the coastal city and more than 100 others were injured. Israeli media said at least 35 people were missing in the coastal city after the attack. (A2 Televizion)
