The governor of New York states that the car explosion that happened on a US-Canada border bridge is not related to terrorism. Two people in the vehicle died and a US border agent was injured.
The car was traveling from the New York side of the border at the Rainbow Bridge when it crashed into a checkpoint. The incident near Niagara Falls led to the closure of four bridges on the world's longest international border.
The blast happened around 11:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday, causing serious disruption on one of the busiest travel days of the year, ahead of the US Thanksgiving holiday.
