White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt is holding a regular press conference.
According to foreign media, after starting by talking about domestic topics, Leavitt turns to the conflict between Israel and Iran.
"I know there's been a lot of speculation... about the President's decision-making and whether or not the US will be involved," she says.
Leavitt then reads a direct quote from President Donald Trump, A2 CNN reports.
"Based on the fact that there is a significant chance that negotiations may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision on whether or not to go within the next two weeks," Trump's quote read.
Leavitt says "no one should be surprised" by Trump's stance that Iran absolutely cannot acquire nuclear weapons, adding that he has been "unequivocally clear about this for decades."
When asked if Trump has any expectations ahead of the meeting of European foreign secretaries with their Iranian counterparts tomorrow, Leavitt said that "the whole world is on the President's side."
She tells reporters that the message that Iran cannot obtain a nuclear weapon "is something that almost all of humanity agrees on, except for the Iranian terrorist regime itself."
"The president expects Europe to convey this message directly to the Iranians," she adds, writes A2 CNN.
White House says Trump 'not afraid' to use force if necessary
Leavitt goes on to describe Iran as in a "very weak and vulnerable position" due to Israeli attacks, and says Trump has been very direct and clear in his message. Iran "can and should" make a deal.
"I think the President has made it clear that he always wants to pursue diplomacy," she says, before insisting that he "is not afraid to use force if necessary."
"Iran and the entire world should know that the American military is the strongest and deadliest fighting force in the world, and we have capabilities that no other country on this planet possesses," she adds, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
