Russia has reacted for the first time after today's meeting at the White House between Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky, which was accompanied by tensions and harsh tones.
According to foreign media, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said that Zelenskyy received a "strong slap" in his talks with Donald Trump at the White House.
"A slap in the Oval Office," Medvedev, who is deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, posted on Telegram, A2 CNN writes.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said it was a miracle that Trump and Vice President JD Vance had restrained themselves from hitting Zelensky during the debate.
Meanwhile, earlier, Kirill Dmitriev, the Kremlin's special envoy for international economic and investment cooperation, described the White House meeting between Trump and Zelensky as "historic."
