Germany is unhappy with President Donald Trump's plan to hand over occupied territories to Russia.
This was stated by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in a reaction to the Munich Conference, writes A2 CNN.
Pistorius stressed that NATO should give Ukraine a chance to join this military organization.
"The unfortunate thing is that I think the Trump administration has taken two important negotiating issues off the table and has done so, in my opinion, unnecessarily. These are: Ukraine's membership in NATO and the question of what territorial changes in Ukraine might look like."
"I think that was careless and I think it was a mistake. In my opinion, it would have been much better to talk about Ukraine's possible NATO membership and possible territorial changes at the negotiating table first and then with Ukraine present and not with those who already have Putin's price," writes A2 CNN.
"I think that was a mistake. We have to be clear with ourselves that Putin has not moved a millimeter so far, at any moment. So far there has only been this phone call," said Bosris Pistorius, the German Defense Minister.
