US President-elect Donald Trump has posted two maps of Canada on his Twitter account, amid his proposals to make the neighboring country the 51st US state.
In the first map, the territory of Canada is painted together with the United States with the colors of the American flag, and as a description of the image Trump has written: "Canada". In the second map, Canada is shaded in the same color as the USA, with the name "United States" written in bold letters, writes A2 CNN.
Neighboring Mexico is highlighted in a different color and only its northern part is on the map. Trump earlier called on Canada to join the US in responding to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's announcement of his intention to resign. He stated that the union of the two countries will remove trade tariffs, lower taxes and guarantee the complete security of Ottawa from the alleged threats from Russian and Chinese ships, which according to the republican constantly surround them.
