Trump names Waltz as U.S. ambassador to the UN, reveals name of national

After leaving his post as national security adviser, Mike Waltz will be the US ambassador to the UN. The news was announced by the US president himself on his social platform Truth, as he announced that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will be Donald Trump's interim national security adviser.

"I am pleased to announce that I will nominate Mike Waltz to be the next United States Ambassador to the United Nations. From his time in uniform on the battlefield, in Congress, and as my National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz has worked hard to put our nation's interests first. I know he will do the same in his new role. In the meantime, Secretary of State Marco Rubio will serve as National Security Advisor while continuing his strong leadership at the State Department. Together, we will continue to fight tirelessly to make America and the World SAFE AGAIN. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" Trump declared.

Mike Waltz reacted after President Trump confirmed that he will no longer be the US national security adviser and will be nominated for ambassador to the UN.

"I am deeply honored to continue my service to President Trump and our great nation," he said on social media.

Waltz had been under pressure since the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic Magazine revealed in March that Waltz had mistakenly added him to a Signal conversation about the strikes against the Houthis, in which officials had outlined the attack plan, including when US warplanes would take off to bomb targets in Yemen.
