Kosovo is mentioned again at the White House; this time by spokeswoman Caroline Levitt. In a statement, she said that US President Donald Trump has managed to end six major global conflicts, including the one between Kosovo and Serbia, and that the Nobel Peace Prize is overdue.
According to her, Trump has facilitated an average of one peace deal every month in his 6 months in office, including the one between Serbia and Kosovo, writes A2 CNN.
The spokesperson's statement appears to refute the claims of those who insist that President Trump was referring to his first term when he cited the prevention of an escalation between Pristina and Belgrade as a success.
Among them was his former envoy for the Western Balkans, Richard Grenell, who harshly lashed out at President Vjosa Osmani, accusing her of manipulating the words of the head of the White House, after the latter confirmed Trump's statement and the risk of a new conflict.
Trump has on several occasions cited his alleged successes in ending conflicts around the world, including the one between Kosovo and Serbia. But he has not provided details on these achievements. (A2 Televizion)
