"Ukraine will not win the war with Russia". This is what Prime Minister Viktor Orban, of NATO member Hungary, thinks, who returns to criticism of the US and EU strategy in Ukraine. According to him, indefinite financing of the battle in the hope of a defeat or regime change in Moscow is a failed strategy.
During a speech in Zurich, parts of which were also published on the social network Twitter, he called for Europe not to bind itself blindly to the United States, since, as he warned, it could find itself abandoned in the middle of a major geopolitical conflict. .
"Let's ask ourselves a question. What happens if there is a policy change in the US? Let's say that the Republicans, who are more skeptical of Ukraine, come to power. Then the Americans will regroup and maybe even turn their backs on us. We Europeans would remain in the middle of a major geopolitical conflict. It is clear that the Ukrainians will not win the war. There are no solutions on the battlefield. Russia will not lose," he said.
According to Orban, instead of localizing the conflict, the West had decided to escalate it by making it global. Last week, Orban asked the European Union to reconsider the strategy, warning it would oppose any further aid to the war-torn country if the embattled leaders did not ensure their targets were realistic. Viktor Orban is considered Putin's closest ally in Europe. He has spoken about the failure of the West's anti-Russian strategy in the past, calling for negotiations between the US and Moscow to end the war. (A2 Televizion)
