The Ukrainian military announced on Sunday that it shot down 70 of the 151 drones that Moscow used to attack during the night.
The Ukrainian air force said 74 drones failed to reach their targets, likely due to electronic interference, and two were still in the air.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said that this week, Russia had launched 1,260 aerial bombs, almost 750 drones and more than 10 missiles of various types against Ukraine, A2 writes.
President Zelenskiy said that Russian military armaments are supported by sanctions evasion schemes and high oil prices, and that Ukraine also does not have a sufficient number of long-range missiles and drones to respond to Russian attacks.
"We are grateful to all partners who are strengthening sanctions, but more global efforts are needed to reduce the capabilities of the Russian oil industry ," President Zelenskiy said in a post on the Telegram network.
He added that Ukraine will expand the production of missiles and drones and called on all partners to invest in Ukraine's defense industry./ Voice of America (A2 Televizion)
