The Israeli army publishes for the first time photos of children being held hostage by Hamas.
"The world celebrates International Children's Day, but 40 children are held hostage by terrorists in Gaza," the post reads.
They indicate that they are trying to send these children to their homes.
"The children who saw their families killed in front of their eyes. Children who lost their innocence. Children still held hostage by bloody butchers. We will continue to try until everyone returns to their homes," they added.
Israel hopes that a significant number of hostages may be released by Hamas in the coming days.
Earlier, Reuters reported on November 15 that Qatari mediators were seeking an agreement between Israel and Hamas to exchange 50 hostages with a three-day ceasefire. According to the official, it is currently agreed in principle, but Israel continues to negotiate the details.
As the world celebrates #WorldChildrensDay , 40 children are being held hostage by terrorists in Gaza.
