Tsunami waves have begun to hit the US coast, with the first waves reaching the coast of Hawaii, according to data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
According to the data, water levels were recorded at over 4 meters in Haleiwa, on the north coast of the Hawaiian island of Oahu.
We will most likely see water levels rise and fall as more waves approach.
The state of Hawaii, parts of Alaska's Aleutian Islands and part of Northern California are currently under a tsunami warning, the most severe alert, while the rest of the US West Coast is under a less severe tsunami warning.
The first tsunami waves have already hit Alaska, while waves are expected to hit Hawaii any minute.
The rest of the western US is bracing for impact, with waves expected in the coming hours. Here are the estimated arrival times from the US Tsunami Warning Center:
Arrivals in Oregon and Washington are expected to begin around 11:35 p.m. PT (Pacific Time).
Arrivals from California are expected to begin around 11:50 PM PT, arriving in San Francisco Bay around 12:40 AM PT and in the Port of Los Angeles around 1:00 AM PT. (A2 Televizion)
