The UK's Supreme Court has made a historic decision. The justices unanimously upheld the biological definition of woman, excluding transgender women, even if they possess gender recognition certificates.

The court clarified that the decision should not be seen as a victory for one side against the other. It also underlines that the law continues to guarantee protection against discrimination for transgender people.
