A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Istanbul, with its epicenter near Silivri, causing widespread panic in the city.
More than 100 aftershocks were recorded, the strongest with a magnitude of 5.9. Residents took to the streets, while many of them spent the night in parks and open spaces, where tents were also set up in some areas.
A video has gone viral in Esenyurt, the moment a crane of a building under construction was shaking violently. The footage clearly shows the fear and uncertainty that the residents experienced during the earthquake. Fortunately, the crane did not collapse.
