A moment of carelessness could have turned into a tragedy in Italy. Local media reports that a 42-year-old man was hit by a car along with his two-year-old daughter after the latter escaped from her father and ran towards the road. The father tried to reach and stop the little girl, but in the meantime she had reached the road where they were both hit by a passing car.
The incident happened in San Faustino di Cingoli in Macerata, when the driver of the car saw them suddenly appear in front of her and stopped to call for help.
The little girl was admitted to the Pediatric Anesthesia and Resuscitation Department, while the father suffered minor injuries.
The man, with his little girl in his arms, had accompanied his older son to the gym. While they were in the parking lot, the little girl left her father. Immediately after the accident, the driver of the car stopped and called the emergency services. The little girl was then transferred by ambulance helicopter to Salesi in Ancona.
