A knife-wielding man was shot dead by armed police in Redditch, UK, after "hours" of negotiations on Christmas Eve, police said.
According to foreign media, West Mercia Police were called to a property in Foënhope Close, Redditch, at around 2pm on Tuesday after reports of a man brandishing a knife.
Police negotiators arrived at the scene in Worcestershire and "attempts were made to resolve the situation by negotiating with the man for several hours".
But at 19:40 the man was shot by the police. He was pronounced dead shortly after 8:00 p.m., writes A2 CNN.
No one else was inside the property at the time, police sources said.
In relation to this incident, a mandatory reference has been made to the Police Supervisor, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, and an investigation has been launched. (A2 Televizion)
