During the press conference with the German Chancellor that ended a little while ago, President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the US to increase sanctions against Russia.
"I understand that the industry in Russia is really feeling these sanctions and the military will feel them next year, from June/July. That's good," he said, A2 CNN reports.
But Zelensky further said that "strong sanctions from the US" were needed.
"Russia is not ready to talk about a ceasefire, so the US Congress should adopt sanctions. When this happens, the war will end faster. There will be a real vacuum in Russia's army," he added, writes A2 CNN.
The comments come as Donald Trump targets sanctions against Moscow as he grows increasingly frustrated with Vladimir Putin's continued attacks on Ukraine and the slow pace of peace talks. (A2 Televizion)
